Chief Executive's Apology Over Season Tickets

Last updated : 14 August 2008 By Stray Shots Team
Perhaps in reponse to fans' grumbles on the Shotsweb message board, Aldershot Town Chief Executive Doug Wilson has issued the following statement on the Shots Official Website:

TO ALL SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

Please accept on behalf of the Club my sincere apology for our failings this year in respect of the timely preparation and despatch of your tickets.

While our local Post Office did recognise the thickness of the envelopes meant we had more postage to pay some envelopes were released and it is very much regretted some supporters are being asked to pay £1.24 locally to collect their tickets from their local sorting office. If you have suffered in this way please call into the club office on Saturday and present your identification and the receipt issued by your post office and this amount will be fully reimbursed.

If for some reason by Saturday your season ticket has still not been received then please be assured special arrangements have been put in place in the ticket office on Saturday to make sure you do not miss the match. Please bring with you personal identification and identify which area of the ground your ticket applies, it will be checked and a temporary ticket issued.

In respect of the overall handling of season tickets this year there are a number of contributary factors for our not providing the quality service to our supporters they deserve. The move to Football League and the introduction of a strict segregation policy requires colour coded tickets; a very late change in our main sponsor necessitated new artwork plus a change of external printer all culminated in delays. These of course have been compounded by the late despatch and our failure to recognise the correct postage rate for the thickness of the envelopes.

Please be assured we are striving to improve our standards in many ways around the Ground and in our operation and this failing on our part is fully recognised, very much regretted and we will learn from it. I trust it will not diminish your ongoing support for 'the shots'
