Bull Eyes More Records

Three was the magic number for Aldershot Town's No 1 last Saturday, when Nikki Bull became only the third player in the club's history to make three hundred appearances.

Granted, that three Millwall headers flew past Bull took a little gloss off the day but Bull is proud to have headed into the record books — and has vowed to make further inroads on Jason Chewins' club record of 489 appearances.

"My debut at Hitchin in the Ryman Premier in 2002 seems a lifetime away," said Bull this week. "It is a dream come true to be playing in the Football League with this club and I am very proud and privileged to have made 300 appearances. Can I make a lot, lot more? I see no reason why not.

"Of course you have to factor in whether I stay injury-free and selected in the side but I am only 27 and it is said that goalkeepers don't even reach their prime until they are 30. We'll just have to see how it goes — but I might get close to the record."

Bull is likely to go second in the list, past Mark Butler's total of 303, before the New Year, but to get close to Chewins' record, he will have to stay at the club long beyond his current deal, which ends in the summer of 2010.
