Thug Daniel McCann: If you see him at a Shots match, inform the police.
British Transport Police said Daniel McCann, 23, of Crown Lane, Farnham, Surrey, goaded fans numerous times from 2001 to 2008, often after drinking.

The reported Aldershot Town FC "supporter" was handed the banning order, starting immediately, by Guildford magistrates.

When Aldershot are playing he must not go within three miles of the stadium which is good news for everybody concerned.

He has also been banned from the railway network or London Underground when Aldershot play away or England play a home game.

He is also required to surrender his passport when Aldershot or England are playing matches abroad.

"Daniel McCann has been observed on a number of occasions by officers from both BTP and Hampshire Police engaging in disorderly behaviour at football matches," said PC Marshall.

"Usually this has been linked to drinking alcohol."

Eleven Aldershot fans are due to answer bail on Thursday after being arrested last month.

BTP are investigating a football-related public order offence at Ash Vale railway station, in Surrey last October.

The Aldershot News has named others in their report today saying, "Ten men have been charged in connection with football-related public disorder at Ash Vale railway station.

The group, aged from 18 to 41 and from Aldershot, Farnborough, Fleet and Farnham, have all been charged with threatening behaviour.

The charges follow an incident on a train at Ash Vale station in October last year, after a League Two game between Aldershot Town and Brentford at the EBB Stadium.

The ten are:

  • Shaun Freeland, 20 of Roberts Road, Aldershot
  • Darren Lawrence, 37, of Gloucester Road, Aldershot
  • Samuel Lennox, 25, of St Michael's Road, Aldershot
  • Darren Payne, 24, of Guildford Road, Aldershot
  • Mark Purcell, 41, of Keith Lucas Road, Farnborough
  • Derek Renfrew, 18, of Church Road, Fleet
  • Benjamin Smith, 19, of Russet Close, Farnham
  • Liam Stone, 21, of Denmark Square, Aldershot
  • Ian McGuiness, 18, of Woodland Walk, Aldershot
  • Christopher Peirce, 36, Station Road, Aldershot

They have all been bailed to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on April 27.

Under the conditions of their bail, the 10 are restricted from going to Aldershot Town matches, home or away, and cannot travel on trains four hours before or after any Shots game."
