At 5.45pm supporters are invited to attend a Memorial Service conducted by Rev Mike Pusey to be held on the pitch. The service will include tributes, hymns and some of John's favourite songs.
John sadly passed away on 22nd August 2009 aged 72 years. Beloved husband, dad and grandad, a true gentleman.
Funeral Service
The funeral of John McGinty will be held on Tuesday 1st September 2009. The funeral and following crematorium service will be private for family members and invited guests. Those attending the funeral and service are asked to note the family request that No Black clothing to be worn.
Aldershot Town v Hereford United- Dedicated To the memory of John McGinty
The family of John McGinty will be in attendance at the Football League Two fixture between Aldershot Town and Hereford United on Saturday 5th September 2009. John's two Grandsons will be Mascots for the day. A minutes silence will be held prior to kick off.
John McGinty Memorial Service After Hereford United Match
Aldershot Town Football Club supporters are invited to attend an open Memorial Service for John McGinty to be held at the football club after the Hereford United match on the afternoon of Saturday 5th September 2009.
The service will commence at 5.45pm and will be conducted by Club Chaplain Rev Mike Pusey with tributes, hymns and some of John's favourite songs being played during the course of the service.
The EBB Lounge, Wally's Bar and Players Lounge will be open afterwards immediately after the end of the match for supporters but will close at 5.30 to ensure that all supporters are back in the stands prior to the start of the service at 5.45pm.
The football club request that all supporters use the Indigo Press Stand, East Bank and, if short of space, then standing on the High Street end as all presentations from the pitch will be facing the Indigo Stand. There is no reserved seating and all seats are on a first come, first served basis. The bars will re-open at the end of the service.
