It is purely a light hearted fun occasion in the build up to Christmas where all the adult entrants will be wearing a supplied Santa Claus outfit and juniors a flashing Santa Hat.
Aldershot Town goalkeeper Nikki Bull has already entered the event and is looking forward to furthering his support with the charity that has become dear to his heart.
At the launch of the 2006 event he said, “I was taken around the Hospice earlier this year and I didn't realise how much work and dedication there is and how supportive the Hospice is for both the patients and their families. With the Hospice being forced to shut four beds earlier this year I know that every penny is crucial so if I can help in any kind of way then that is what I will do”.
The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is the official charity of Aldershot Town Football Club and Nikki, who has made 192 appearances for the Shots, is hoping that other supporters will join him in the run too adding, “It doesn't matter whether you raise £5, £50 or £500 the Hospice needs every penny. It doesn't get a great deal from the government and it is mainly funded by the community so the message is let's have more the merrier with everybody having a good day out, plenty of fun and raising money for the Hospice at the same time”.
