Former Shots player Josh Payne has spoken to Eagle 96.4fm reporter Elizabeth Herrera following his release from prison.
Speaking in a heartfelt manner, the 22-year old actually sounded like he has learnt from his experience as the youngster thanked Shots supporters for their support following his 12-month sentence.
Having been found guilty of Actual Bodily Harm and Common Assault the player was unexpectedly sent to prison and on his release said: “I would like to thank them [Aldershot Town FC and the supporters] for giving me such a good opportunity to play with them.
"I loved all my time there, I thought it was a great team, a great club and a nice family club.
"Also I would like to apologise for what happened.
"I let everyone down, I let the fans down."
Now looking to rebuild his life and career, the youngster remained level headed during the interview and spoke about his hopes ahead and how he has the support from his family and girlfriend and actually appeared to be deserving of a break.
At the same time however, Josh realised the situation he is currently in and the work he will have ahead of him.
