Aldershot Town FC Chief Executive Bob Bowden, has announced on the clubs offical website www.theshots.co.uk that the new pub which will be errected on the site of the old Directors car park is expected to be completed over the next few days and will be up and running for The Shots home clash against Forest Green Rovers.
An open evening will be held at the pub on Friday 18th January - starting at 6pm sharp which it is hoped will be attended by as many Social Club and ATFC Ambassadors members as possible where Mr Bowden will explain the transition from the Phoenix Club to the new venue as well as giving those attending an update on all commercial developments within the club to date as the club look to maximise their off the field income. Other club Directors will also be in attendance and will be keen to meet supporters to discuss their plans for the future.
After 7pm ALL Shots supporters and their friends will be welcome to visit the new pub and enjoy a drink or two as the club look to get their latest venture off to a flying start.
The pub will then open at about 1.30pm on Saturday 19th January to serve drinks to ALL fans at the promotion chasing Blue Square Premier "six pointer" against Forest Green Rovers and food will also be available for supporters to buy.
The pub will also be open at half time and immediaetly following the final whistle and will feature two live bands who will stay well into the evening to keep everyone entertained and food will once again be available to make the whole matchday experience at the Recreation Ground worthy of the club we support.
From Saturday 19th the Phoenix Club will switch into the new venue for the clubs pre-match meal service, being sold as part of a new 'ATFC VIP Ticket'.
These tickets are being sold at £50+VAT each which includes an excellent three-course lunch with wine, a match programme, a reserved seat in the North Stand and tea and coffee at half time. A full pay-bar will also be available before and after the match.
Supporters wishing to purchase VIP tickets should contact the ticket office or email nicky@theshots.co.uk. Tickets can be sold individually with tables or 6 and 8 being set up in the Phoenix Bar.
In the exciting new venture, Mr Bowden has tried to meet the needs of all Shots supporters as well as channeling new income to the club but the CEO understands that not everyone will be pleased with the change. Speaking to www.theshots.co.uk he said, "The old saying of 'You can't please all of the people all of the time' is true, but what we are looking to achieve is to 'Please most of the people, most of the time' whilst making money for the club."
Tickets are already selling fast so the club are requesting supporters act early if they want to be part of this exciting new future but most of all, the message is clear that the club are trying hard to bring in new funding to the club to safe-guard its future - so please support what they are doing and be a part of the future success of The Shots.
