Shots Vice-Chairman John McGinty has thanked supporters for turning up at the Phoenix Club to watch Englands World Cup matches.
He told the clubs official website, www.theshots.co.uk that he was looking forwards to the venues continued success for next Sunday's tie against Ecuador and hopes that even more supporters will attend to cheer Sven's men on to victory.
He told the site, "The place was heaving against Sweden. We asked supporters to come and support the club and they certainly have done. When Joe Cole scored his goal everybody went mad. It was like a slow motion reaction because the ball took an age to reach the net but then when everybody realised it was a goal everyone went mad.
"They are buying their beers but also helping their football club too. As an added bonus they have been making donations to our official charity the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice too. It is great all around and I want to thank everybody who has supported this."
