Aldershot Town FC Manager Dean Holdsworth has added to his back room staff with the appointment of 29 year old Matt Gray as a Coach. London born Gray has spent the last four seasons as first team Coach at Eastleigh and was previously at Havant and Waterlooville. As a player he featured for Tottenham Hotspur, Cardiff City, Barnet and Hayes, for whom he played under former Aldershot boss Terry Brown.
Also arriving at the club is 39 year old Ashley Bayes who takes up the position of Goalkeeping Coach on a part time basis. In a distinguished career Ashley has made over 500 appearances including spells at Torquay United, Exeter City, Leyton Orient, Grays Athletic and Stevenage. He is an FA Trophy winner and has a League of Ireland championship medal during his time with Bohemians. In addition to his coaching duties Ashley will also remain as a player and has signed for Conference South side Basingstoke Town.
Boss Holdsworth told the clubs official website: “I am pleased to announce the arrival of Matt and Ashley. Matt is somebody who I have known for quite a while and brings his own experience in a variety of areas. Ashley is a lively character who I played with at Brentford. He will be extremely influential with the goalkeepers, their fitness and work rate.”
