Traffic Delays Ahead For Supporters
Last updated : 10 February 2005 By Stray Shots Team
Supporters visiting the Recreation Ground from Monday 14th February 2005 are being advised to allow extra travelling time or to find an alternative route for the remainder of the season. The route along the A323 (Ash Road) from the A331 (Blackwater Valley Relief Road) to the junction with Waterloo Road where the A323 becomes the High Street is set to undergo 14 weeks of repairs and improvement which will effect all traffic attempting to access Aldershot Town centre.
Shotsweb have reported that the club have sought advice from the police and also league officials and have been advised that kick off times can not be altered to accommodate the works.
As a result, the club are asking supporters to allow plenty of extra time to get to games or find an alternative route to the Recreation Ground. The A325 side of town will be unaffected – other than with other drivers using it – so again be aware that extra journey time should be allowed.
