Aldershot Town FC is in mourning today following the announcement that Supporters Club Chairman and Club Director, Paul Muddell passed away following yesterdays 1-0 Blue Square Premier victory against Woking.

In a personal message on the clubs official site Club Chairman John McGinty said, "Many of you will have heard that today I lost a very good friend in Paul Muddell.

"With Tony Booker the three of us travelled to away games together in many parts of the country. We had many a good laugh and he knew a few songs.

"He was strict in adhering to his principles, he drove himself on for the club working everywhere that his help was needed, he did not ask what he could get from his club but what could he give to his club.

"There will be a huge void left to fill, he will be a hard act to follow, we did not see eye to eye on every topic but if whatever was discussed was for the good of the club it would be done.

"Rest in peace good friend, you left us watching your team win, I hope they continue to please you.

"Goodbye dear friend, God Bless you."

Everyone connected to the Stray Shots would like to echo the public sentiments that are being shown on the Shotsweb messageboard and offer our sincere condolences to his friends and family during this sad time and also thank Paul for everything he did for the club and the time he put in in helping the club out.

We hope you will be up there smiling down on us come the end of the season.  Rest in peace.
