Travel Update For Salisbury

Last updated : 21 August 2013 By The Stray Shots

Salisbury City officials are advising any Shots supporters who are visiting the Ray Mac Stadium this coming Saturday, to expect travel disruption.

As one of the best away days in the fixture calendar, supporters are advised that this coming Saturday’s trip to Wiltshire is expected to cause some issues on the travelling front – so the message is clear – LEAVE EXTRA TIME TO GET THERE!

Our hosts have advised that there is a major Salisbury City Fun Day which is expected to conflict with the match which is being held on the same day and it is expected to seriously impact on travel in the early afternoon if approaching the Ray Mac Stadium from either the Amesbury A345 direction (including the Park & Ride Site) and from Salisbury City Centre via the event on Hudson's Field Old Sarum Castle (A345).

Supporters are strongly recommend to travel down the A303 and exit at Park House Junction at the Hampshire Border (Westbound) and travel towards Salisbury on the A338 to Old Sarum.  Exit left on A338 towards Marlborough for A303 (for approximately 6 miles) following the match on Saturday.

Supporters are also advised that although not officially announced, the Supporters Trust coach is expected to be cancelled due to another lack of bookings, but advertise rail fares are just £15 – although it could involve some coach transfers depending on which route is being taken.
