The days of 6000 attendances for this fixture are long gone but this test at Cherrywood Road on Tuesday evening was a good indication of the strength of Aldershot Town's squad mixed in with the up and coming youngsters that have proved their ability in reserve and youth team football this season.

Farnborough, fielding seven of the side that started in their Zamaretto Southern Premier division match at Oxford City at the weekend, started the stronger of the two sides.

On 10 minutes Adam Doyle produced the first chance of the match with a 12 yard effort that whisked just wide of the target. Kebie Ibe tested Mikhael Jaimez Ruiz in the visiting goal soon after with a fine turn and strike that stretched the Venezualen to his left to gather.

Bradley Bubb produced a fine turn on the edge of the 18 yard box before curling the ball around the diving Ruiz and onto the post.
