Farnborough vs Aldershot Town Reserves

Last updated : 10 February 2010 By Mike Wray

Aldershot Town Reserves make the short trip to Cherrywood Road on Tuesday evening when they face Zamaretto League leaders Farnborough for another Rushmoor derby and the chance to progress to the Semi-Finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup.

With a poor League Two result against Barnet at the weekend, Shots boss Kevin Dillon will be pondering over the need to progress in the competition with the merits of risking any of his first-teamers ahead of Friday evening's difficult trip to Northampton, but those who didn't make it off the bench at the weekend - Anthony Straker, Dean Howell, Kirk Hudson, Danny Hylton and Dave Winfield are all likely to feature as is keeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz who will be keen to show his worth as he looks to regain his first team shirt from loanee Stephen Henderson.

Farnborough boss Steve King has one or two injury worries ahead of the match, with Owen Price [shin], Daryl McMahon [dislocated thumb] and James Smith [recovering from a broken nose] all side-lined while Steve Robinson also misses the tie as he completes the second of a two match suspension. New signing Michael Jordan will also be missing from between the sticks as he is ineligible having not signed seven days prior to the tie.

King has also told his clubs website that his squad is likely to include a few of his clubs youth players.

Aldershot View
"This is another good opportunity for Dean Howell and it was good that he was able to get a late run out on Saturday at Barnet after such a lengthy period out of the game. We have named a number of players that have not been able to complete 90 minutes in first team action recently and this is an important match for them against a Farnborough side that have had an excellent season so far."

Farnborough View:
"We will be taking the match seriously and I will be fielding a strong as side as possible, we are only two matches away from a final and it would be a good day out for the supporters if we can get there."
