Promising Shots teenager Doug Bergqvist has returned to the EBB Stadium for assessment to a knee injury he suffered whilst playing for Dorchester Town in last nights 2-0 home defeat against Dartford.

Making his third appearance for the Magpies since moving in a month loan deal, the defender was forced off with a knee injury during the match and now faces assessment by the club’s physiotherapist, Nick Brink.

Speaking to the local media, Dorchester manager Ashley Vickers said: ”I think he’s done his knee ligaments but we’re waiting to see.

”He had ice on it after the game and we’ll have to wait for it to be assessed by Aldershot.

”Injuries happen when you have this many games coming thick and fast.”

Striker Reece Connolly also featured for the Magpies following his month long loan and played all 90-minutes of the match and although he failed to help his new side to maintain their five-game unbeaten run, Vickers concluded: ”Reece was excellent in the first half, I just wanted to see him get a bit closer to Ryan Moss [Dorchester’s other striker] in the second half.”

The injury to Bergqvist has made him a serious doubt for Dorcehseter’s trip to Farnborough this weekend however we will have an update on the extent of the injury as soon as it is known.

The injury is another set back for the club, with midfielder Jack Randall having suffered his second broken leg of the season a little over a week ago during his loan spell with Didcot Town.
