The Shots Reserves came away from Broadhall Way this afternoon with a narrow 1-0 victory. The goal came five minutes before half time following an Aldershot corner which was headed in to the back of the net by Chris Giles.
Following a recent dip in form, Giles should take heart from his match performance during which he began to show who good a player he can really be. On the playing front it was more good news on the field as Ray Warburton made his long awaited return from injury and even managed to last the whole 90 minutes. He looked as solid as ever at the heart of the Shots defence.
The Shots line up was:
1. Andy Glasspool
2. Neilson (Trialist)
3. Congo (Trialist)
4. Phil Warner
5. Ray Warburton
6. Chris Giles
7. James Read (formerly with Walton & Hersham)
8. Ty Smith
9. James Hinchin
10. Ryan Scott
11. Aaron McLean
12. James Field
14. Liam Buchan
15. Jason Short
Following the match, Shotsweb held back the names of the two trialists – stating that, “The names of the trialists are being witheld at this time as there is interest in them from other clubs.” – however their names were freely available on the Stevenage Borough site – so have been placed online on this site.
