The first part involving the current young players was the forming of next seasons Centre of Excellence (COE) which will bring better facilities and better coaches to develop potential Aldershot Town 1st Team players of the future.
The next stage was the club to look at the current Junior Section where it has now been confirmed that the Junior Section will cease at the end of the season and a NEW "Elite Centre" will be formed.
The Ethos and the running of the Elite Centre will be controlled and guided Head of Youth and Centre of Excellence Manager Tim Coe. The clear objective of the Elite Centre is to produce players for the Centre Of Excellence and ultimately to play for the 1st Team.
Based on this guideline and a clear develoment coaching ethos, it is then the responsibility of the Elite Centre to nurture and maximize the potential of talented young footballers to be able to play at the higher level of the Centre of Excellence.
The Elite Centre will be running open trials for next years age groups under 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 on the 15th and 16th May 2010.
These are exciting times and the new organisation gives elite players the chance to play for a professional Club at the highest level outside the academy/COE system.
