However, Millwall were determined to change this statistic as they started the game at hurricane speed. This caught the Shots off guard and within the first minute of the game the Lions had 4 corners as Shots could not clear the ball effectively.
Shots weathered this onslaught and the game settled down, to a slightly more tornado pace. The Shots tried to continue their passing flowing game, but the Lions were very busy and worked hard to disrupt this, allowing the Shots few passes before each move was broke down. The Shots did manage some very good moves; in the 10th minute Carlton Cox slipped Adam Mekki in, to feed Josh Pearson on the flank, but Pearson's cross was too close to a capable Drummond in the Lions goal.
