Based on the Calendar Girls theme, eleven players from the squad will pose in a variety of shots – with only their red socks on show! All other body parts will be cleverly disguised with various footballing items.
The club have decided that all profits will be split between the club’s official charity, Help For Heroes and Cancer Research UK – a charity which has affected in some way every player at the club, especially after the passing of Shots Chairman, John McGinty recently.
The shoot, which takes place at Aldershot Town FC’s EBB Stadium in September, is hoping to raise over £5000 for both charities.
Project Manager Tracy Marlow who came up with the idea in July, said: “We are in the process of setting up a website for people to buy the calendar on-line, as well as coming into the club shop at Aldershot Town on match days.
“On top of this, we aim to sell this at forthcoming Help For Heroes and Cancer Research UK events.”
Shots Ladies manager Andy Liddicott had this to say of his players’ efforts: “The girls wanted to do something special as a team which would help the local community and support their nominated charities; the calendar girls’ idea was suggested and agreed it would be a good and memorable way of raising funds for charity.”
