The shots started the game with one new signing on show in Carys Potter,
In the past this match has always been a hard physical encounter and this match was no exception. The game was an open game going end to end, with both sides forcing a number of corners, from one of the Shots' corners Laura Funnell could only watch as her shot from just outside the box hit the cross bar.
After 28 minutes, Henley broke the deadlock. The ball was played down the right-hand side; the Henley attacker evaded the Shots' defender and lifted the ball into the roof of the net.
The Shots - still pressing for the equaliser came close when Nikki Moore's shot was closed down. Just before the half-time break, Laura Wallman again came close when she hit the post.
After half time the Shots settled the quickest and broke away from the midfield, the ball came into the box and there was some confusion between the Henley goalkeeper and the defender and from nowhere Laura Wallman mange to poke the ball into the net.
Henley again started to push forward and this was starting to create space for the Shots to start to get their passing game together. As the game was coming to a close, The Shots cleared their lines. The ball hit the referee, and fell nicely into the path of Caz Shephard, as she drove on through the midfield she played a well timed pass through to Laura Funnell. Funnell took one touch, and fired in a shot, which smashed against the cross bar and bounced on the 6-yard box. The Henley defender didn't react to the situation and sub Laura Hann pounced to hit the back of the net.
As the game came to a close, Henley piled forward and with the Shots not clearing the ball in the midfield area, they where punished when the Henley striker burst clear of the Shots defence and buried the ball into the corner of the net.

"Our first competitive match, against a very physical side, we never got into our stride and found it hard to even string a couple of passes together in the first half. But the girls grafted really hard throughout the match and got something from the game. A point was probably a fair result and I would have taken a point at half time.
We take a break from the league and concentrate on the FA Cup next week and this will give us time to get the returning players up to speed."
