The shots started the game attacking against the strong wind and the awful conditions made it hard to play in however as the game began to gather pace, The Shot worked the ball well but found it hard to create scoring chances.
The first real effort saw a move down the right from Funnell who was playing as emergency left Back to Gayler. She laid the ball to Marlow who skipped around the keeper, but the defender managed to block her effort on goal.
MK also had a couple of long range efforts which Hubbard dealt with but the next main action was a forced change in the first half which saw Ireland having to be replaced by Laura Wallman following a clumsy challenge from a MK player.
After half time The Shots stepped up a gear and forced MK onto the back foot. North and the impressive Houghton making her full debut in centre of midfield, started to find more freedom and when Tracey Marlow was played in, she spotted the MK keeper of her line so chipped an effort goal bound which dipped just wide of the goal.
The Shot broke the deadlock on 56 minutes when the ball was worked wide and fell to Wallman. She move the ball pass her marker and curled a shot into the bottom left hand corner of the net 0-1.
Just after the kick off the players where meet with a hail-storm, the referee had no option to take the players off.
After 15 minutes back in the changing room the referee was happy for the game to continue on a rather white pitch.
The conditions didn't help both sides but MK seemed to settle the quicker and equalized when the ball wasn't cleared in The Shots defence and the MK player looped the ball over a stranded Hubbard in goal to make it 1-1.
The game then switched back to the MK half for the last 10 minutes with the Shots putting more pressure on a number shots whistled passed the target.
Just as the game looked like heading for a draw the Shots turn the game into a win
With the ball switched out to the right Cary's Potter found herself in space and attacked the full back. Taking the player on, she hit the ball down the line before sending in a cross to the front post.
The keeper went for it but misjudged in spectacular style and could only watch as the ball dropped into the back of the net with Marlow racing in to make sure.
Final score 1-2.
After the match manager Andy Liddicott said, "What a day! We had a couple of players drop out sick, a long journey, poor weather and the game was nearly being abandoned.
"Both teams must take a lot of credit for playing in those conditions and we finished of the game on a hail stone covered pitch.
"We always knew MK would be tough as they are scrapping for every point they could get.
"I think they done us a favour by sitting back and going for the draw.
