One word. Wow !!
A previously undefeated Fulham side were the visitors to Bourley Road on Sunday but they encountered a Reds side for who, simply everything, clicked from start to finish.
With the whole team, again, looking much more comfortable with the new 4-4-2 formation, the Shots gave a performance of slick passing and movement which Fulham just could not cope with.
Two first half goals from George Patten were added to by a Ben House header and a trademark Toby Elstow lob.
H/T 4-0.
The most pleasing aspect of the second half was the way the boys held their shape perfectly for the rest of the game and continued to play as a team (in previous matches, a little bit of focus had been lost when leading comfortably).
They were wholly rewarded for their maturity with 8 further goals – Ben & George completing their hat-tricks, Toby getting his second of the game, Danny Thompson scoring a quick-fire brace (his first rounding off the “move of the match”) and George Mann & Tom Bussell (with his first goal for the club) completing the rout.
F/T 12-0.
A delighted Russ Woolley said after the match “I was scratching my head a bit at the end about who I was going to give Man Of The Match to……it really could have been any of them. They were ALL superb”
You’ve set yourselves the standard now lads – more of the same next time will do nicely !!
