Celts Positive Ahead Of Stiff Test

But the unfortunate nature of that 4-0 defeat at Stevenage has doubled Farsley's determination to remind their rivals they are no pushovers.

"The spirits are high for our trip to Aldershot," said Celts boss Lee Sinnott.

"The last result has gone but there is no way it was a 4-0 game."

Farsley - who also lost their unbeaten home record in a 2-0 defeat to Exeter last Saturday - had played the last 20 minutes with ten men at Stevenage.

They had used all of their substitutes and had Tristram Whitman carried off with a dislocated shoulder. Not only that, the Celts had earlier lost skipper Ryan Crossley from the heart of their defence with an injury.

"These things happen. There is no place in this game for clubs or individuals who feel sorry for themselves," added Sinnott.

"Things will not go that way forever. We will play a lot worse at times and win.

"We had nine corners and eight attempts on target at Stevenage - there were many plusses from the game."

The most important one for Sinnott was the return of his club captain Carl Serrant.

The former Newcastle and Oldham player has yet to play for the Celts in the non-league top flight and the return of a player with his experience is a major boost.

Sinnott said: "He was due to play a full game for the reserves on Monday but we re-evaluated that situation. He played for 45 minutes just to prove he was ready and so returned to the starting line-up for the first team on Tuesday.

"He got the full 90 under his belt and did well considering it was his first game for months."
