The U's thought they had a first league victory in two months within their grasp at Aldershot on Saturday, only to concede an 86th-minute equaliser in their 1-1 draw.
"We had chances to make it 2-0, but that's the way it's going for us - we're not getting the rub of the green," he said. "About three times we should have had a penalty, but that's what the referees are like in this league."
The former Eastbourne Borough striker, who had a spell on loan at Yeovil, is still only 22, but he's been showing on a consistent basis that his game has really improved since he joined United just over a year ago.
And he enjoyed his role at Aldershot as a wide attacking player in United's new 4-3-3 formation.
"I think my game has improved," he admitted. "That's what it's like when you're training every day, you work on things you're not good at in games so you become a better player.
"My position was really halfway in between the wide one in a 4-3-3 and being the wide midfielder in a 4-4-2 and it worked well, I thought.
"It came about in training when we were looking for an outlet.
"To be fair, away to Aldershot we'd have taken a draw if we were winning our home games, but we're not getting any luck at home.
"It's hard, but we've just got to keep on going and I'm sure we'll get a win soon. We know we're capable of going up from this league, so we're just carrying on and working hard in training."
