Sam Poised For Aldershot Test

United's coaching staff and management will probably see how young keeper Sam Warrall fares in a practice match in training next week before deciding whether to throw him in at Aldershot next Saturday.

The Setanta Shield fourth-round tie at the Recreation Ground is the game that Billy Turley has to miss after collecting his fifth booking of the campaign at Southend on Tuesday.

"People think I had a plan!" chuckled Turley.

With their noisy fans, Aldershot can be an intimidating place, especially for a teenage keeper on his debut.

On the other hand, the Setanta Shield tie is unlikely to attract a big gate, so it could be an ideal opportunity to blood the young keeper, to see what he's made of.

Rules for the Setanta Shield state that clubs must use at least 11 of their 16-man squad from the previous game.

United are now checking the exact wording to see whether it's 11 of the 16 from their last 'league game' or last first-team game.

If it's 'league game', they wouldn't be able to do it because of injuries and suspensions!
