He said: "We were devastated at the end to give away the goal after Simeon Jackson got us back into the game.
"To work hard with ten men for so long, we thought we deserved something.
"Defensively we were so solid and every set- piece we defended well - that was the difference from last week (at Shrewsbury).
"We wanted to show that we are strong and we won't just lie down and die.
"I saw a few old faces there, which was nice, but I was desperate to win."
Bentley was back in the starting 11 after having to settle for a place on the bench in the previous three matches.
