That's the view of manager Dave Penney who feels that ex-Boro man Kennedy, who joined Darlington in the summer, and Ravenhill have the energy levels required to bring a touch of class and stability to the core of the team.
"The two of them were excellent at Macclesfield last week," said Penney. "When you win 6-0 the goalscorers get the glory, but the midfield was very strong.
"Jason and Ricky have bags of energy and are as fit as any players at the club.
"They had played 120 minutes at Watford in midweek before the Macclesfield game, yet still had the enough in them to play so well on the Saturday."
The duo will start at Aldershot tomorrow, but Penney will be without Franz Burgmeier, who is on World Cup qualifying duty with Liechtenstein.
The obvious answer is to recall Adam Griffin, but Penney will decide whether to change the system from 4-4-2, as he has various players who can do different jobs.
He has played 4-3-3 to good effect in away games last season, and said: "We have strength in depth and options. We make decisions based on our players and the opposition.
"Aldershot play good football. They beat Bradford last weekend, and were the better side when losing on penalties to Swindon in midweek.
"They will have seen our result last week and will be on their toes. Psychologically it may make them try harder against us.
"It's a tight compact ground so there should be a good atmosphere, and the pitch is good which should suit the way that we play."
Aldershot were promoted after winning the Blue Square Premier title with something to spare and have made a good start picking up seven points - two more than Darlington - from their first four games.
"Last week's win was just one result and it's important that we don't get carried away," said Penney.
"We must make sure that the emphasis stays on doing the right things, which means passing the ball well."
Striker Pawel Abbott appears to have fully recovered from injury, and is set to make the trip to Aldershot, though Penney is undecided whether he has a part to play.
He won't start, as Liam Hatch and Billy Clarke will continue the striking partnership that started so well at Macclesfield, where the latter scored four times.
Abbott has trained hard all week following knee, hamstring and Achilles injuries.
"To have him available would be a great addition to us. He would add to any side in this division and the one above," said Penney.
"He's suffered no reaction, but we have options in attack so won't rush him back. In the past we have had to, but will try to make sure he is fully fit."
Young striker Jason Bradley has recovered from a broken toe and is in full training, while Gregg Blundell is on form.
