Blue Square Premier club Grays Athletic have announced the acquisition of striker Ben Watson from Blue Square South side Bognor Regis Town.

Watson was Bognor's top scorer in the 2005/06 season and has decided to make the step up to the top tier of non-league football by signing a two-year deal at Bridge Road.

The pacy frontman has also represented the England National XI for the 2006 Four Nations Tournament and has played for the England 'C' team.

He has forged many lasting partnerships and was quick to point out that he'll be leaving with a heavy heart.

"I've loved my time there," Watson said. "I'm so grateful to Jack for giving me the chance to play football.

"I've enjoyed his style of management and I've got so many friends there, from the management, staff and players down to the people behind the bar.

"I'm so grateful to the club. Hopefully the fans have appreciated what I've done for them."
