Kidderminster Harriers skipper Stuart Whitehead successfully underwent surgery on a hernia after recently recovering from an ankle operation.
"At first it was just something we were going to keep an eye on but the pain gradually got worse for Stuart," manager Mark Yates told the club's official website.
"As he continued to train we noticed it wasn't getting any better and after finding out it was a hernia we obviously scheduled him for an operation which he had yesterday.
"The surgery went well and Stuart will obviously need a bit of rest before he starts work with Fozzy.
"We're hopeful that he'll be fit in time for the first game of the season but if not, certainly a week or two later."
