Conference News: McEwan Rues Defensive Lapses

The Minstermen have been unlucky with recent injuries to key players and have recently learnt that their bid to extend Chesterfield's Janos Kovacs' loan deal has been rejected.

Those injuries and individual defensive errors have cost them dear in recent weeks and McEwan has been left to curse his luck.

The City boss told the York Press: "We have been dealt a cruel blow at the wrong time of the season.

"People will say 'you're making excuses Billy'. They are not excuses they are just facts."
