Last updated : 20 June 2007 By Stray Shots Team

Redfearn is an experienced player having played for Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Barnsley in the past and has played at all levels of the game.

Former Norwich and Manchester City manager John Bond recently joined the club in a consultancy role recentlt and will work closely alongside 41-year-old Refearn.

"From the start Neil impressed us with both his professionalism and experience," Northwich chairman Mike Connett told the club's official website.
"And that impression was reinforced the more we spoke to him. We believe he's just the kind of coach that Vics need at this stage of the team's development, with the emphasis on Premier League-style ball possession.

We want to get away from the kind of knock and run tactics that we've seen in the past. We also need to get into the play-offs of the Blue Square Premier. Neil is the man who is going to do it for us on both counts."

Connett feels that Redfearn and Bond will form an effective partnership and added: "It's going to be an interesting combination and effective one too.

"With Neil giving the players a level of tactical guidance that the've never before known at the Club and John overseeing the whole process.

"It's great news for both the team and the fans and something I believe will herald a whole new era of success for the Club."
