Attacking midfielder George Boyd, one of the hottest prospects in non-league football looks likely to be moving away from Steveange in January.
Peterborough boss Keith Alexander has already had two offers for the Stevenage youth team product turned down, with the player setting his sights on The Championship at the very least.
Charlton and Spurs were linked with his signature in the summer after his 11 goals from midfield last year in the Conference. Already this season Spurs, Newcastle, Reading, Fulham and Palace have all had the youngster watched with bids ready to be made.
Although the only non-Premiership club interested in him, Palace have the advantage that Boyd is in fact a Palace fan.
Borough chairman Phil Wallace has all but conceded that Boyd will be sold but has refused to accept a token price for the talent.
"We turned down a significant bid from Peterborough United and they've now increased that offer in an effort to sign George," Wallace said.
"Whilst we admire the tenacity of Peterborough in trying to secure a player they rate highly, we won't consider a move unless the terms are right for us and, most importantly, George wants to go to the Club who makes the offer.
"Effectively this would mean a Conference record fee for us and a significant long term deal for George. We've had enquiries from other clubs and we're telling everyone the same thing 'George will only be available if we get a fee that we believe is commensurate with his ability, not the league we currently play in."
