Conference News: Twiss Pens New Contract

28-year-old striker Michael Twiss who had been linked with a move to League Two side Accrington Stanley has decided to commit to his future to the Nationwide Conference club.

Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy told the clubs official website, "I am delighted to have re-signed such an influential player.

"Michael is a quality act and proven goal-scorer and I am sure this signing will send out the right message to the other members of the squad that we are negotiating with at present and to all Morecambe supporters.

"It sends out a very positive message that a player of Michael's quality wants to commit his long-term future to Morecambe."

Michael Twiss commented, "I am more than happy to sign and commit my future to Morecambe Football Club. I love it here, the players, officials, staff, management and fans, everything about the club.

"I am enjoying my football and want to be a part of the progress of this football club."
