The 23-year-old frontman started his career as a trainee at Mansfield five years ago, before having brief spells at Doncaster Rovers and Kidderminster Harriers.
However, the Derby-born target man returned to Field Mill just twelve months after originally leaving, and then signed an eighteen-month contract with Rushden & Diamonds in January 2007 following a successful loan period.
Beardsley's overall career record currently stands at 38 (50) senior appearances and a total of 11 goals.
York have already added Gravesend & Northfleet striker Onome Sodje and former Torquay United left-back Mark Robinson to their squad.
