New Cherries manager, Jimmy Quinn was unveiled at Dean Court yesterday after a dramatic 24 hours that saw Bond, along with assistants Rob Newman and Eddie Howe, relieved of their posts by Sport-6 owners Saverimutto and Paul Baker on Monday.
But with deduction-hit Cherries losing ground on fellow League Two strugglers Rotherham in the race to zero points, Saverimutto insisted the club could ill-afford to delay bringing in Bond's successor.
Saverimutto said: "It was an eventful day yesterday and in some respects it wasn't the best day we've had.
"But we recognised that AFC Bournemouth, in the position it is, needed change and needed decisions.
"It's always difficult to remove anyone from their position and I must say that Kevin and his team gave 100 per cent, but it wasn't to be."
On Quinn's appointment, Saverimutto added yesterday: "There's no time at this club to deliberate further so we immediately gave Jimmy and Jason (Tindall) the chance to start with immediate effect from this afternoon."
