L2 News: Daniels Targets A Longer Town Stay

Last updated : 20 August 2008 By Stray Shots Team
On-loan shot stopper Luke Daniels is hoping a promising start to his Football League career will secure a longer stay at Shrewsbury Town.

Goalkeeper Daniels' initial 28-day temporary move from West Bromwich Albion comes to a conclusion at the end of this month.

But the 20-year-old is keen to prolong his time at the Prostar Stadium after making his bow in senior football in England.

Two clean sheets in his first three games - Carling Cup conquerors Carlisle are the only side to have scored past Town this season - will have done Daniels' cause little harm.

And he is now waiting to see if his time at Town will be extended.

"I've really enjoyed it here and I'd like to stay longer if that becomes a possibility," said the Manchester-born custodian, who still harbours hopes of having a long-term future at Albion.

"We will just have to see what happens but it's great to be playing games in the Football League."
