After snapping up striker Justin Richards from the cash-strapped Aggborough club, Cheltenham Town are returning for midfield playmaker Chris McPhee.

In Allen's last message to Cheltenham fans, he indicated that the Robins would make one more permanent signing before turning his attention to loan deals, and McPhee is expected to put pen to paper on a one-year deal, like Richards.

Allen told the club's official website: "I have one other player who I am hoping will join us in a couple of weeks' time when he returns from his holiday.

"After that I will do my best to recruit some young loan players, possibly through to the January transfer window. Once again I ask for the help of supporters to send in recommendations for players that they know about or have seen that are under the age of 20."

The 26-year-old McPhee only joined Kidderminster in February, after leaving a Weymouth club who were in turmoil and had not paid his wages in 2009.

He spent the previous season with Ebbsfleet United and scored the winning goal in the FA Trophy victory over his previous club Torquay United at Wembley.

He was named man-of-the-match in that game and was the Fleet's player of the season, going on to represent England C in their four nations tournament success in Wales.

McPhee, who had loan spells with Aldershot Town and Swindon Town in 2005, began his career with Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Eastbourne-born player spent seven years with the Seagulls, making 60 appearances and scoring four goals.

Although he is primarily known as a midfield player, the versatile McPhee has also played as a striker and a full-back during his career.
