Vale had slumped to a new low on Saturday when they were beaten 4-1 at home to Macclesfield.
Last week Sinnott had spoken to the local media saying that he believed his job was in jeopardy after he accepted that the clubs results had not been good enough during his eleven-month reign, but he was convinced that he could turn his struggling team around.
Sinnott had struggled to win over all his directors since he was appointed on a 5-4 majority vote but had refused to criticise the board saying, "The bottom line is that results aren't good enough at the moment. You can't run away from that and I am not expecting to."
Sinnott was appointed by the club as a replacement for Martin Foyle last November and he inherited a team that was nosediving towards relegation and was unable to save them from the drop to League Two.
Saturday's defeat was Vale's third in four home games and left Sinnott's young side 16th in League Two after seven matches.
His results at Vale were in stark contrast to his exceptional record at former club Farsley Celtic, where he enjoyed three promotions in four seasons.
Sinnott, who did have two years left on his contract, had been determined not to quit Vale Park and explained: "I believe I am a bloody good manager. It has been a tough 11 months, I am not denying that. I have learned a hell of a lot.
"I have fought long and hard to get a position like this. People above me will decide whether I stay, but I have no intention of walking away."
