Vale Management In Bust Up!

Last updated : 25 February 2011 By The Stray Shots

The BBC has reported that Port Vale manager Jim Gannon got off the team coach which was on route to the clubs hotel ahead of tomorrows League Two game against The Shots, following a bust up with assistant manager Geoff Horsfield.

In the report it is stated that Gannon met his legal representative at a service station in the West Midlands and returned to Vale Park for talks with chairman Bill Bratt while Horsfield also left the coach further into the journey.

BBC Radio Stoke understands that Gannon will be at Saturday's League Two game, but Horsfield will not attend.

Posting on Twitter, Vale goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson said: "Awesome events on the team bus."

The former Crewe and Burton man later added: "Someone has left the bus."

Looking at supporters comments on unoffical website Port Vale Online, supporters had the following to say:

"You couldn't make this all up!  A couple of months ago we were all pretty confident of automatic promotion come may, we were turning to every game expecting a result, players looking confident and the good days were back... then Adams gets offered his dream job... in comes Gannon & upsets all and sundry and we are looking dodgy for even play-offs.... I hope it all gets resolved quickly while we still have time to get a serious promotion push going again." - Biddulphian

"Lucky for Jim that his legal representative was on hand to give him a lift! Was that a coincidence or did Jim have to wait for a while? I think the Horse has done well to keep it together this long really. He doesn't deserve the treatment he has had from Gannon. Why does everyone keep defending Jim, it is clear from his previous record that he finds it difficult to get on with anyone. I think he may have a good understanding of the game but he doesn't have the ability to manage." - flying ferret
