Having seen two-points thrown away against Stockport County last Saturday, The Shots provided the best possible response at Torquay midweek when they managed to steal all three in a vital 1-0 victory at a rain-swept Plainmoor leaving keeper Jamie Young saying: "Saturday was the first time that we've been really disappointed because we were in a really great position and didn't get the result. Not many people would have backed us here [at Torquay] but we produced a really good result and kept a clean sheet so it's really satisfying.
"Marvin [Morgan] has now got two [goals] in two so hopefully he'll get confidence from that and carry it on now.
"It's such a fine line and we've been there every time and not quite making the difference but now with that result we should be able to push on and keep doing the same things.
"We've always had that belief and tonight is an example of that because we've come through and got a result and that's what it's all about."
The Shots enter the match in tenth place with twelve points from nine games while the Robins are six places below them in sixteenth, but only have a point less having played the same amount of games.
Robins Youth Team manager John Brough is the only Shots connection in the current Cheltenham set-up, however Jeff Goulding did have a spell on trial with the club from Egham Town during the 2003-04 season, but did not make an appearance. In the Shots squad, both Darren Jones and Damian Spencer have featured for our visitors
Shots team news
While The Shots will be searching for their third victory in as many games against their visitors, manager Kevin Dillon will be taking it as just another match and it will be business as usual.
Speaking to The Shots Online he told us: "It's another game we'll be looking to win, we're the home team and we've done well so far - we probably needed to have turned our draws into wins, we've come back from being a goal down having been on the front foot which is great to be able to do and it was the first time this season that we've managed to score late on and hold on to the lead and overall, I'm expecting us to have a positive result.
"They [Cheltenham] have conceded quite a few goals on their travels but they are a well organised team and two seasons ago they were in League One so I'm looking forwards to the game and we've got three good games coming up [against Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers and Oxford United] so hopefully we can win them all."
The Shots have a full squad available for selection, however Jack Randall is unlikely to feature through lack of match fitness and Dillon will consider Manny Panther's fitness, after he picked up a minor toe injury at Plainmoor.
Shots from: Jamie Young, Ross Kitteridge, Ben Herd, Anthony Straker, Glen Little, Anthony Charles, Darren Jones, Jamie Vincent, Ben Harding, Luke Guttridge, John Halls, Danny Hylton, Marvin Morgan, Manny Panther, Jermaine McGlashan, Wade Small, Damian Spencer, Jack Randall, Reece Connolly, Marlon Jackson and Clayton Fortune.
The opposition
While the Robins have a good home record to date, they have lost three (against Rotherham, Barnet and Chesterfield) and drawn one (against Gillingham on the opening day) away from Whaddon Road and have failed to pick up a win in their last three league fixtures and the management have been working on their formation during training this week in a bid to tighten up their game away from home.
Speaking to the media this week, assistant manager Neil Howarth who knows The Shots from his time at Kidderminster said: "For me Aldershot are a good solid team, they've not got the greatest home record in the league but I think come the end of the season they've notoriously done well and it's a very difficult place to go. It's a big old ground with a large pitch and they've been difficult to beat over the last couple of seasons and it's a tough game.
"The season they won the Conference they beat us at Kidderminster 2-0 and from that game they kicked on and deservedly won the league that year and they've had success from winning the Conference and had a good season last year and they're a big club and a hard team to play against and it's a difficult place to go.
"We want to get an away win as soon as we can for no other reason than it will take us a few places up the league, but as I said, it's a difficult place to go but we'll be going there with no fear, we will try to be positive and see what Saturday brings."
Josh Low is doubtful and will face a late fitness test following a calf strain he picked up two weeks ago but both Frankie Artus and Martin Riley will be absent.
Midfielder David Bird will equal Cheltenham Town's Football League appearance record of 258 games for the club if, as expected, he is selected to play.
Cheltenham from: Scott Brown, Daniel Lloyd-Weston, Keith Lowe, Danny Andrew, David Bird, Andy Gallinagh, Michael Pook, Joshua Low, Wesley Thomas, Jeff Goulding, Brian Smikle, John Milligan, Kyle Haynes, Theo Lewis, Jake Lee, Josh Emery, Shaun Jeffers, Steve Elliott, Robin Shroot and Marlon Pack.
