Brown gave the former Newcastle, West Ham and Brighton hit-man a debut run-out against the Sussex side as the 34-year-old has been enjoying pre-season training with the Shots.
The Shots lost 3-1 after two first half goals from Karl Beckford, before Chris Nurse pulled one back for the Shots early in the second half.
The home side then netted a third as Jean Michel Sigere scored from the spot.
Meanwhile Brown also used Wednesday night's trip to continue discussions with Mark McGhee over a possible loan swoop for pacy striker and former loanee Jake Robinson.
Finding a partner for Tim Sills up front has caused Brown all kinds of problems after losing Roscoe D'Sane in October last year.
Indeed, it was the two loan signings of Robinson and Wycombe youngster Jonny Dixon that proved the best replacements although both of them were recalled by their respective clubs at crucial times.
Now the boss has a number of potential solutions in Kitson and Robinson, whilst not ruling out moves for triallist Chris Senior and Dixon.
“I really like both Chris Senior and Jake Robinson, they are similar players and I'll be speaking to the Brighton people about a possible loan.
“It's out of my hands and is down to the club and whether Jake wants to move. In a perfect world I'd have both of them as I really rate Chris as well.
“I've also been keeping an eye on Jonny Dixon as Wycombe signed a lot of strikers over the summer. Kitson has been training us but whether he signs will depend on whether he enjoys playing again.”
The striker has been out of the game for 15 months after leaving Rushden & Diamonds at the end of the 2003/4 season, and whilst despite lacking match fitness, is a striker of obvious ability.
“He's got all the qualities, he's looking fit as a fiddle and has been training hard, he's strong, got a bit of bite about him and can obviously finish,” added Brown.
Brown has added further signings this week with the capture of former Leicester and Peterborough winger Ahmed Deen — the mysterious “Gary Med” that played against Tottenham on Sunday.
After impressing the boss, Brown was quick to offer him a deal to stay at the Recreation Ground for a year.
“Deen impressed me on Sunday, we've done some checks on him and he's got a good pedigree and looks like a quality signing.”
Three youngsters have also signed up to contracts at the Rec, midfielder Ryan Scott, goalkeeper Dan Weait who impressed against Eastleigh and centre half Dave Winfield have all put pen to paper.
“It's pleasing to see the youngsters coming through, they'll be squad players with the opportunity to get run outs and come off the bench in first team games.
“There's one or two we're looking at in Will Salmon and James Field so there may be more. Bringing in youngsters means I am also able to bring in players of Hassan Sulaiman and Deen's calibre,” added Brown.
The boss also ran the rule over Brighton defender Gary Elphick with a view to a possible loan move on Wednesday night, although he was also in talks to bring in an experienced defender.
“I'll be putting my strongest side possible out against Wimbledon but Monday may have more significance in terms that Steve might get a half and Sillsy might get a half.
“During the pre-season I've had to watch players I know I'm not going to sign just to get a team out because so many of my first teamers are injured.
“I've been getting stick off the boys asking when we're getting someone decent in but it's a waiting game, it does make you slightly nervous, you don't want to get to the start of the season and not have the players you want on board.”
But with five major signings in a week, the squad Brown will have for Tamworth is slowly starting to take shape, albeit without a fit, signed-on striker and a few first-team injuries.
Brown added: “I'm a lot happier now than I was, with so many injuries and so many triallists, this really has been the worst July ever, absolutely torrid.
“I'd like to make a couple more signings this week with a view to bringing in the loans on Saturday. Tamworth are looking a good side and it's going to take us a week or two into the season to have everyone back.”
