Brown In Busy Week

Terry Brown has told the Aldershot News that he is confident that left back Darren Barnard will be staying at the Rec next season after ongoing talks went well this week, while Gary Holloway and Matt Somner are thinking over new deals.

Brown told the reporter, "Holloway and Somner are two good players and if we come to an agreement, I'd like to keep them on board.

"I do though have a budget in which to work and I'm aware that I have to strengthen the squad by bringing in a number of quality players.

"While we are negotiating the players are free to talk to other clubs as they are out of contract. Agents are making things difficult also, so we'll see what the pair of them decide."

Brown is also in talks with no fewer than eight new faces about signing on for next season — one of which being on-loan favourite Jonny Dixon.

The boss is hoping to tie one or maybe two of those players to deals this week with Barnet wide man Ben Strevens strongly believed to be one, especially in the wake of Crittenden's departure.
