Speaking after The Shots 2-1 defeat against AFC Wimbledon last weekend Brown told the reporter, "Today's result hastens the need for an attacking midfielder who scores goals and we desperately need a goalscorer.
"I would have scored today, its ridiculous how many chances we missed.
"John Grant has scored 14 goals for this club and let me tell you, he is not a prolific goalscorer. He's a target man and if he gets you 20 goals, you'd be delighted.
"The fact that he's scored 14 and no-one has scored any around him says more about those around him."
Former Shots loanee Dixon is believed to have finally accepted that he will not make it at Wycombe and is ready for a move to secure regular first team football.
With Grays having already made an offer for the young striker, it is believed that Terry Brown is also preparing to make a bid for his services and Dixon has been sighted in the Shots crowd at several home games recently.
