Brown Looks To Saturday

Talking to the Aldershot News, Shots manager Terry Brown said, “The first three games are going to be about getting as many points as we can, not performances. Normally you want to start off with solid performances and build from there but we'll just be looking to grind out as many points as possible,” added Brown.

In Tamworth, the Shots face a side they have never lost to, beating the Lambs twice last season 2-1 away and 4-3 at home, and drawing with them twice the season before.

However, with their additions, two of whom will be all too familiar to Brown, in striker Alsop and midfielder Hugh McAuley, Mark Cooper's part-time side are unlikely to be a pushover.

Talking on the match Brown added, "I've done my homework on Tamworth and we'll be putting a side out to win.”

Meanwhile, Brown has had some positive news this week by completing a deal with League One side Yeovil Town to bring 29-year-old centre half Scott Guyett to the Rec on a month's loan.

“I'm delighted to have Scott on board, that's been a big plus for me, we effectively have him for seven games,” said Brown.

But with a transfer window now in place for the Conference, Brown will need to bring a permanent new face in once Guyett returns to Huish Park at the beginning of September.

He hasn't, however, ruled out a long-term loan deal for Guyett in the future.
