Brown Tells Sky Title Race Is Far From Over

Speaking exclusively to www.skysports.com Terry Brown said that any of the top five still have a chance to catch John Coleman's men, who have taken the league by storm, winning ten of their last 12 outings.

Brown told the site, "If Hereford can put a run together they've definitely got what it takes to claw Accrington back. Stanley are likely to go through a sticky patch, much like Grays are at the moment, so there could still be a lot to play for".

Brown is full of admiration for Accrington boss Coleman, and feels he knows the secret to the Lancashire side's success.

"John's done a marvellous job. They've got the biggest budget in the division but they do have the luck of a consistent squad, with a couple of key additions at the right time.

"In Ian Craney and Gary Roberts they also have two of the division's bright young players, and holding onto them will have been a massive boost."

Aldershot's squad however has been anything but settled this term. Ripped apart by injuries at the start of the campaign, Brown also saw top scorer Tim Sills depart for Oxford United in the January transfer window.

Rumours surrounding a possible fall-out with former Chelsea men Darren Barnard and Nick Crittenden have not eased matters at The Recreation Ground, though Brown is looking forward to a late play-off charge.

"I've picked up Jonny Dixon and Leroy Griffiths and these two can really make a difference for us. Jonny has been here before and scored a sackload, and knowing he is the key man again should really see him do the business for us.

"The permanent signing of Ryan Williams has also been a big boost for us, these guys score goals and scare defences."

By his own admission, though, it has been the Shots' defence that has respected the fear factor in recent weeks.

"We really were as bad as the 5-1 Altrincham defeat sounded. We've got to learn to defend as a unit and defend for each other. I'll definitely be making changes after that performance.

"Going forward we have talent in abundance but we've got to learn to defend as one. If we do that, we'll win more than we lose and that play-off spot might not be so much of a distant dream."
