In a message from Chairman John McGinty, he states: "I am pleased to inform you of the appointment of Tony to the above position in our club where he will assist myself, Gary and Graham Hortop (Club Secretary) on Football matters and will also assist other Board and Senior Management members with their day to day tasks throughout the Club. I know he will be a great asset to the club in this role.
"Tony has worked hard behind the scenes over the past 10 years on youth and junior football and when he is not flying halfway round the world in his role as Director of one of the world’s most successful banks he is down at the ground checking progress and proactively working on the development of our club. He is a self motivator and drives himself hard.
"In his position as a trusted member of a Bank, he exudes trust from others, and it was through his good efforts he sought and brought investors into our club and achieved a great result in securing thrust and very welcome investment. I welcome you to this role Tony and wish you even more success both for us and your family.

While manager Gary Waddock is quoted as saying: "I am delighted with this appointment, I have enjoyed working with Tony ever since I came to the club, he is a great asset to Aldershot Town and has a real passion for the club which is always evident from the work he puts into it.
"His achievements with the Youth Team football and in particular the Centre of Excellence have been immense, I am looking forward to working with him in his new role.
"The board have made a really good decision appointing Tony as Vice Chairman.I am delighted with this appointment, I have enjoyed working with Tony ever since I came to the club, he is a great asset to Aldershot Town and has a real passion for the club which is always evident from the work he puts into it."
It is not know how much funding Mr Taylor has brought into the position having initially been on the Operational Board, which of course, requires no cash outlay.
