Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock has confirmed that Scott Davies who is on loan at the club from Reading, has been called up to represent the Republic of Ireland at Under 21 level.

The 20 year old attacking midfielder is in his second season at the EBB Stadium and has now netted 23 goals in his 70 Aldershot Town appearances.

He has been selected for the Irish squad that will be facing Germany tonight at Turner's Cross as Don Givens' side prepare for their Euro 2011 Qualifier versus Turkey next month.

It is not a new stage for Scott as he has also represented his country at Under 17 and Under 19 level. Ireland will face a difficult challenge against a German team who are busily preparing themselves for the finals of the UEFA U21 Championship of 2009. They are one of eight teams who have qualified for the final tournament to be held in Sweden in June.
