Kevin Dillon has wasted very little time in making his first signing and has confirmed that 41-year-old Gary Owers has become his assistant.

Talking to the clubs official website, www.theshots.co.uk this week, the new boss said: "I've known Gary for over 20 years from the days where he was at Sunderland and I was at Newcastle United. We have a lot in common and I know that he has all the attributes required to do the job.

"Gary is a proper grafter and has gained extensive experience not just as a player but also in management, coaching and on the academy side too. I am looking forward to working with him."
