Skysports.com has announced that Wycombe Wanderers have agreed a fee for Aldershot Town midfielder Scott Donnelly, but have been unable to complete the deal in time for the Monday transfer deadline.
After finally reaching a deal with The Shots for the promising midfielder, time was against fomer Shots manager Gary Waddock as the winter transfer window closed before the deal could be sealed.
However, the Chairboys boss remained undeterred in their chase for the 22-year-old and will sign him on loan when the loan window reopens with the option to secure his services on a permanent basis in the summer.
Shots boss Kevin Dillon however said nothing of the sort in his interview on local BBC Radio, click on the link to listen:
