Former Manager Backs Club

Two board members stepped down this week with the club denying that they are about to enter administration.

Brown told BBC Surrey: "You're not really a club in crisis if you're in the top 10 of the league.

"Yes, they'll need a little bit of money to strengthen in January but I know the squad very, very well and they'll be fine."

Terry Brown was Aldershot manager for five years, taking the club from the Ryman Premier Division to successive Blue Square Premier play-off campaigns, before he left in March 2007 citing personal reasons.

He admitted he does not know the 'ins and outs' of the club's current financial structure but is confident they will not be let down.

"What I do know is that a lot of people love that club and there's a lot of rich business-people around that area," he said.

"You're not talking about a club in millions of debt, you're talking about someone that needs to come in, steady the ship and inject a little bit of money.

"There's enough people in business that will do that, I'm sure, with a great club like Aldershot," he added.
